SUE, discovered by paleontologist Sue Hendrickson in 1990 at the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation in South Dakota, is the best preserved Tyrannosaurus rex in the world. In 1997, with funding supports from The California State University system, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, McDonald's, and Ronald McDonald House Charities, The Field Museum was able to purchase the fossil with the highest bid of $8,362,500 in an auction conducted by Sotheby’s. SUE is now a permanent display at the Field Museum of Natural History.
