35 East Wacker Drive, a Chicago Landmark designed by Giaver Dinkelberg Thielbar and Fugard in the Art Deco style, is a 40-story high-rise skyscraper completed in 1927. The structure, known as the Jewelers Building, Pure Oil Building, and North American Life Building, is now better known for its appearance as the Gotham City Courthouse in 2005 film “Batman Begins”. The dome atop the building, once functioned as a restaurant named Stratosphere Lounge, is now a showroom for architect Helmut Jahn.
