The First United Methodist Church, located at 50th and St. Paul streets near the Nebraska Wesleyan University, was founded in 1888 in the area known as University Place in Lincoln. The structure of the church, constructed in the Neo-Classical architectural style with massive Greek columns, was dedicated in 1909.
