William Jennings Bryan, known as “The Great Commoner”, was a prominent political figure in the early twentieth century who served as a congressman, Secretary of State, and three time presidential candidate. In 1901-1902, Bryan constructed this hill-top building for around 10,000 dollars in Queen Anne architectural style designed by Lincoln architect Artemus Roberts. The building is currently operated by BryanLGH Medical Center, housing the William Jennings Bryan Institute and Bryan Museum.
