Lux Center of the Arts, located in the heart of University Place district in Lincoln, was established in 1977 as University Place Art Center. The center was moved into the old city hall of University Place, an incorporated town annexed to Lincoln back in 1926, offering educational programs in contemporary art and design. The Lux Center is also home to the collection of over 450 art prints by Gladys M. Lux, the center’s benefactor, featuring works by the early and mid twentieth century artists such as Joseph Hisch and Guy Pene DuBois in its Gladys M. Lux Historical Gallery.
