
. Blues City Café, located on Beale Street in downtown Memphis, was originated in Greenville Mississippi by Charles and Dominic Signa. The Beale Street location was first opened in 1991 as “Doe’s Eat Place”. In 1993, this popular restaurant was renamed as Blues City Café, featuring their catch-phrase “put some south in your mouth” while serving BBQ ribs, tamales, broiled steaks, and fried catfish to hungry tourists. Nightly live music entertainment is presented in The Band Box located right next to the restaurant, featuring artists such as BB King, Albert King, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Cate Brothers, and Courtney Love. Notable visitors include President Bill Clinton, Ed Harris, Alice Cooper, Al Franken, Tom Cruise, Samuel L. Jackson, Bill Murray, Elizabeth Hurley..etc.
