Back of a Snowman (White) & Back of a Snowman (Black), exhibited in John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park in downtown Des Moines, are sculptures by Gary Hume made with cast bronze and enamel as “the perfect sculpture viewable from all sides, immaculate from all angles”.  Hume, an English painter/sculpture identified with YBAs “Young British Artists” circle, graduated from the renowned Goldsmiths College of Art and was a participating artist in famed 1988 Freeze art exhibition in London Docklands organized by Damien Hirst and 1990 East Country Yard Show exhibition organized by Henry Bond and Sarah Lucas.
