We took an early morning flight to Houston with Huntsville as our final destination to participate in SCI Region VI Conference 2008 hosted by Sam Houston State University. Bumpy flight uncompromisingly canceled the gooey-gooey feelings generated by the in-flight complimentary roasted coffee and giant muffins. The weather was bad, and I was progressively unfolded into a semi-nervous flyer right before we finally landed with a scary note.
SCI Region VI Conference 2008, featuring David Dzubay as the guest composer, was hosted by Trent Hanna and Kyle Kindred with 15 exclusively exciting concerts held in various locations in Sam Houston State University’s beautiful campus.
Bodhisattva was presented by Michael Reichman on alto flute, Elizabeth Aleksander on clarinet, Daisy Smith on bassoon, Ben Koch on horn, Mikiko Sakamoto on piano, David Snow on violin, Derek Mosloff on viola, Jessica Dussault on cello, and Leonardo Lebas as conductor.
